Savegre River -
Two day adventure
|
Tour
description
This 2 day adventure will begin
with
a transfer from Manuel Antonio / Quépos or San José * to San
Isidro de el General, the
most
important town on the southern Interamerican highway, located on the
southern slope of the Chirripo
National Park. A commercial
center of coffee
farms, cattle ranches and plant nurseries. We will drive east to "El Llano", a
small town in the middle of the mountains where our white water
adventure will begin. After a safety talk by one of our professional
bilingual guides we will star running continuous class III and IV rapids on the Division River, the main
tributary to the Savegre
River, one of the most
pristine rivers in the country surrounded by impressive views of
primary
forest. The trip will continue through one of the most remote canyons
on
the Savegre River passing rapids like "Cinderella"
and "Malibu". We will arrive
at Rafiki
Safari Lodge, a wilderness
resort with a little touch of Africa, the place where we will spend the
night. Here we will be hosted by the South African family that runs the
place, sleep in luxury safari tents with private baths, fire heated hot
water showers and a swimming pool with a waterslide.
After a good night rest on Rafiki
we
will begin our second day running "La
Boca del Diablo" a class III
rapid that will wake us up!! We will continue our descent on the
Savegre
River running class III and II rapids all the way down to the
bridge on the Pacific
Coastal
Highway, where our transport will be waiting to meet us and drive us
north to Manuel Antonio.
