La Posada del Museo is a single and well-preserved Victorian building recently restored to its old splendour which is at a stone throw from the historical area. It was built in 1928 for the former president of the National Bank of Costa Rica and later the favorite domain of a well-known Costa Rican family. It is an excellent wooden building remodeled and converted into an amazing small hotel with all the facilities and comfort of the big and modern ones.




Located in the heart of San José on a palm-lined boulevard, just a few steps from the historical area, La "Posada del Museo" is beyond any doubt an oasis in down town San José. This small hotel offers its guests the warmth and comfort charm of your own house and also the confortable accomodation and professional service of the big hotels.

With trendy colonial interior, each room is different in name, size, price and decoration to fit every desire or need but all of them fully equipped, stylishly matched and tastefully displayed for the comfort of guests who will enjoy an outstanding treatment from the staff and owners.


All rooms have private bathroom and hot water, cable TV, internet access. We also offer laundry and dryclean service, luggage storage and free parking.

"La Posada del Museo" has a small but growing library with books in different languages, newspapers and magazines; internet connection in the lobby and a cozy family-run restaurant in the basement which serves breakfast, tea, pastries, tight meals, refreshments and all home made European delicatessen as well as lunch specials every day. Dinners and lunches can be provided by order.
